Metallica – MTV’s Motherload Contest | 1996 | 1080p

This is the “contest winners” portion of MTV’s “Motherload” contest – a contest where there were four winners but only one of them would get an actual visit to their town from the band (the other three won a Jeep and a bunch of Metallica swag). I remember entering this contest multiple times, only to be disappointed by who actually won – that guy who gets on stage with them and forgets the words to “For Whom the Bell Tolls” – unforgivable! There was also an MTV Europe version of this contest from what I recall. This is also where you’ll find the memorable quote from James where he says “it’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye. Then it’s just fun you can’t see.” Ha!
